I've never made any kind of hat cake before and this one was challenging only because I really wanted to nail the design. The "Scrambled Eggs" (don't know why it's called that) where very important as it described rank. I though it would be my most difficult part but it wasn't...it was ALL THOSE WORDS. Man! I felt like a stalker preparing a letter for it's victim cutting out those letters and using a blade to pick them up because the modeling chocolate was too soft to handle. But, in the end I was happy with how it turned out.
I used two 8 inch and one 10 inch cake and still could not get the "tilt" I wanted so I used a thin layer of RKT on the bottom to get the look I wanted and it worked out great!
