Healthy Chocolate Homemade Granola



 

I was craving something sweet and crunchy today, so instead of reaching for that delicious "Payday" I have in the freezer (BEST candy bar EVER!) I decided to make some healthy granola. This is good just to munch on or eat for breakfast with some fat free milk :-) I've always drank ff milk and I recall when I got engaged, my hubby saying "I'm not drinking no fat free milk"! Well...it's been 23 years and we haven't bought whole milk since...loose the battle, win the war gentlemen...win the war :-).
 
 
 "Healthy Granola Recipe"
3 cups  Oats
1 1/2 tsp real Cinnamon
1/2 c Coconut flakes
1/2 c  Raisins
2 Tbls Flaxseeds
1/2 tsp sea salt (If desired)
(toss together well)
Add:
6 Tbls Almond Butter
3 Tbls  Agave Nectar
3 Tbls Maple Syrup
2 Tbls Good Vanilla
1/4 Cup Ghirardelli 60% chocolate chips (ground)


Mix all ingredients together well, Pre-heat over at 325. Line a baking sheet with foil or baking paper. If using foil cover lightly with cooking spray.
Spread out granola evenly and bake for 25-40 minutes (depending on how brown you want it). Stir lightly after about 20 minutes, sprinkle crushed chocolate chips over it and toss well then return back to oven to complete browning.

Almond Butter (Gluten free & Vegan)
Natural Cinnamon
Dark Amber Maple Syrup
Light Agave Nectar
Any Good Vanilla
"Simple Truth" Natural Old Fashioned Oats
and Seedless Raisins
100% Organic Coconut Flakes
Salted Pumkins seeds

Let Cool and then eat as is or for more texture, color and crunch sprinkle some salted pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries and a little bit more of the coconut..
