Happy Birthday Masyn

This cake was made for a 3 year old boy who loves Curious George. Cake is a double dark chocolate Ganache covered in Buttercream edible decorations made of  fondant and rice krispy treats. Sand is crushed Graham Crackers.
 
 
I was very happy how George turned out but...I did want him standing, didn't want to take the risk of him falling if I could not get him stable...maybe next time!
 
 
 
He still has that iconic clumsy look to him which is what I was going for.
 
 
Spent quite some time getting that cheek puffy to look like he was eating a banana instead of a monkey with an abscessed tooth :-)....though, some may think he does look like he's in pain....what-E-VER! So long as it puts a smile on the kids face, I'm good.
Had to make it realistic...what Monkey has sparkling clean feet walking on hot sand?!
 
Chilin "Curious George" style...banana mess and all :-).
 
I attempted to make a mini sand castle...yeah...nuff said. The bucket is made from rice krispy treats.

YUMMY HEALTHY BREAKFAST BARS

Here are mine, they turned out SO good! They smell devine baked or not. When baking it's like I'm making a cake...it smells just that good! And they are very satisfying too :-).
 
Before Baking....

After...looks like a big cookie :-). I didn't have an 8x8 pan so I used my 9x9.

Here are all of the ingredients together, I could have eaten this straight from the bowl...no joke.
 
The ingredients: I used sea salt...worked just fine and regular dried cranberries since I already had them (no need to buy organic). I picked everything up from Whole foods, you could probably find them in any store.




Blanched Almonds

Salted pumpking seeds..I was munching on these even before I got home :-).

Hot Oat & Quinoa Cereal

This is a delicious, healthy, hot vegan cereal from "Bon appetit", Check out the recipe on their page.

 


 
Their photo was so much better but...it didn't make it taste any better than mine! I added a tsp of organic lite Maple syrup, and Dark brown sugar along with about a tablespoon of sunflower seeds...yummy!
 



Here is a better photo. I didn't let mine sit over night I just brought it to a boil as directed and then simmered for about 25 minutes...perfect! They say this is 4 servings but it's a LOT of cereal! I also don't care for the texture of steel oats so used regular oats. This is very filling and satisfying.
